Privacy Notice

This notice is designed to inform you about the treatment of your data in accordance with Article 14 GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

For applications to “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs” and in cases of accepted participation, we will collect and process the personal data that is needed from applicants and participants for the realisation of the event “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs” by the Musicboard Berlin GmbH.

Which data do we collect and process, and for which purposes?

The personal information provided by you and collected by us for your application to “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs” includes your name, date of birth, address, telephone number, e-mail address, photo, and links to your social media pages as well as details about your field of activity, a short biography of you, and, if applicable, further voluntary information provided by you during the application process. At and during the event “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs”, we will create and allow the creation of photos and image/sound/film documentation. This will include documentation of the participants, and we will process and publish this documentation. We would like to point out that this personal data is only collected for a specific purpose. The data you provided in your application—your photo (profile photo), your name or artist name, your occupation or job title, and your social media links—will be saved for the duration of our annually-recurring “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs” festival. We will store the photos and image/sound recordings for archival purposes, insofar as the archival purpose requires it. Further provided data will be deleted after the end of the festival unless we are legally required to preserve it. The following constitutes merely a list of instances in which data will be processed and used:

– For the implementation of the event “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs”

– For public access on the websites “Musicboard-berlin.de”, “www.pop-kultur.berlin/”, and “www.pop-kultur.berlin/nachwuchs” as well as on our social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

– For the fulfilment of legal requirements

– For our own advertising purposes related to the event “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs”

– For purposes of our archive

I hereby agree that personal data used in the Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs application and accreditation phase as well as data collected during the event itself may be saved and processed.

In general, we do not pass along data to third parties without your consent. The data we collected in the form of your short biography, personal photo, and the social media links you provided as well as photo and film documentation made during the event and featuring you and/or other participants may be published by our media partners and cooperation partners for non-commercial purposes only, which is why we will share just this data in whole or in part with these partners. In addition, we will make the short biographies and the e-mail contact details provided by all participants in the application publicly available online within the “Participants” and “Alumni” sections of our website, so that the participants of this year’s event and former “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs” participants can get in touch with each other.

In addition, interested third parties will be given the opportunity to contact you via a form field on the websites “www.pop-kultur.berlin/” and/or “https://nachwuchs.pop-kultur.berlin.” Your email address will not be publicly visible but instead linked to the form field. You hereby agree to this point.

Incidentally, in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR we have completed data processing contracts with third parties who process your data on our behalf. These contracts oblige the third parties to comply with our data protection regulations.

Right of Revocation

If you wish to deny consent to any or all of the above possible instances of data processing, you can revoke the use of the above data at any time, with effect for the future, by sending an email to nachwuchs@pop-kultur.berlin. Data we are legally obliged to collect and store will remain unaffected.

Legal Grounds

Insofar as you have given us your consent to the processing of personal data for specific purposes, the lawfulness of this processing is based on your consent according to Art. 6 (1) a) of the GDPR. Given consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future by writing an email to nachwuchs@pop-kultur.de.

The collection and processing of personal data from the applicants and participants of the event “Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs” enables us to organise and carry out the event in the first place. The purpose of this event is, among other things, to connect the participants with multiple cultural workers from the entertainment industry, to increase recognition of the participants by the public, to provide training and education, and to act as a platform for the publishing of participants’ own performances and works. Our justified interest in the collection and processing of data is tied to these objectives in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. F GDPR.

Otherwise, data will be collected and processed primarily for the fulfilment of the contract in accordance with Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR.

In addition, according to Art. 6 (1) c) GDPR, data will also be processed in order to fulfil legal requirements.

Right to Information, Right to Rectification, Deletion Right, Right to Limitation of Processing, Objection to Processing, Right to Data Portability (Articles 15 – 22 GDPR):

According to the Federal Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have a right to free information about your stored data and if necessary a right to the rectification, blocking, or deletion of this data; a right to restrict processing; and, in the case of processing according to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. F, a right to object to processing and a right to the transfer of your data. Right of Appeal
