»Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« returns to the Kulturbrauerei on 21-23 August, 2019!
In 2019, Pop-Kultur’s talent programme will take place for the fifth year in a row in Berlin. The workshops, talks, and lectures, which are given in either German or English by musicians and professionals from the national and international music industry, will be held on August 21st and 22nd, 2019 in the Kulturbrauerei, followed by the networking format “Trinken mit” on August 23rd.
The programme will provide inspiration, clarify urgent questions, and encourage young talents to continue making their way in the music business. Selected participants will also be able to present their music as part of the main evening programme on the Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs stage.

Last year, an expert jury picked 250 participants out of over 800 applications from across (almost) the entire world. Thanks to a full scholarship provided by the Goethe-Institut, 10 young musicians from the Global South, the Middle East, and (Central) Asia” were invited to come to Berlin and joined »Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« to further professionalise their careers and build international networks in the music business.
Over the course of two days, they learned from influential artists like Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten), Black Cracker (in collaboration with Native Instruments), Max Rieger of All diese Gewalt, Noveller, Sky Deep, and Throwing Shade, as well as industry professionals like Thomas Jepsen (Roskilde Festival), label managers Christof Ellinghaus (City Slang) and Horst Weidenmüller (!K7), music journalist Dirk Peitz, and Andrea Götzke and Melissa Perales of Torstraßen Festival, among others.
Mona Rübsamen, the general manager of FluxFM, and the music journalist Amanda Petrusich opened each day of »Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« 2017 with a keynote speech. The entire programme of »Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« 2017 can be downloaded here.
