»Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« takes a new digital turn from 26-28 August 2020!

»Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« connects 250 young talents from all over the world with artists of Pop-Kultur’s live programme and other professionals across the fields of economics, politics and music industry. In hands-on workshops and talks these international experts provide personal insights into their work and share their experience on how to live and survive in pop-music-business.

The spread of COVID-19 leaves stages empty all around the world, yet we would like to encourage young talents now more than ever to network and exchange – musicians, producers, DJs and all those who are active in the field of pop culture, whether in management, booking or with their own label, whether as video directors, PR managers or journalists.

»Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« happens in August – this year online. Participants can choose between more than 40 different courses and digital networking formats offered in German or English that will provide insights and allow you to zoom in deep and learn from the work and experience of artists of the festival’s programme and insiders of the Berlin music scene. And as the programme invites applications from all over the world, participants can expand their international networks and connect across borders and disciplines.

The application period runs from May 12th to June 18th, 2020. Participation in »Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« is free of charge, but is subject to an application process. An expert jury will pick 250 participants for the sought-after spots in the programme.

Last year, an expert jury picked 250 participants out of over 800 applications from across (almost) the entire world. Thanks to a full scholarship provided by the Goethe-Institut, 10 young musicians from the Global South, Middle East and (Central) Asia were invited to Berlin and joined »Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« to further professionalize their careers and build international networks in the music business.

Over the course of three days, participants learned from influential artists like CocoRosie, Stephen Morris (Joy Division, New Order), Stella Sommer (Die Heiterkeit), Mense Reents (Die Goldenen Zitronen) and Zebo Adam (producer Bilderbuch). More mentors as well as the complete workshop programme in the »Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs« 2019 Guide.
