Goethe Talents – Go live!

Im achten Jahr der Kooperation zwischen Pop-Kultur und Goethe-Institut kommen acht junge Musiker*innen für einen zwölftägigen Aufenthalt nach Berlin. Auf ihrem Programm stehen Studiobesuche, intensive Jam-Sessions, Kurzpraktika in Unternehmen der Berliner Musikszene und Austauschtreffen mit Stipendiat*innen der Musicboard Berlin GmbH bis hin zur Möglichkeit, ihre Musik selbst zu präsentieren: im Acud Macht Neu und auf der Nachwuchsbühne bei Pop-Kultur. Einige der Goethe Talents sind zum ersten Mal in Berlin, manche auch zum ersten Mal in Europa. Die jungen Musiker*innen, die aus der Kenia, Tansania, China, Myanmar, Usbekistan, Argentinien, Sri Lanka und Botswana kommen, werden vor allem gemeinsam Musik machen, sich mit den hiesigen Musikinstitutionen vernetzen, Inspiration aus verschieden Bereichen mitnehmen und diese hoffentlich auch in ihre jeweilige lokale Szene einfließt.

Wir sind total gespannt auf die Solo-Konzerte, die am Abend des 02.09. im Acud Macht Neu Clubraum präsentiert werden. Vorher stehen sie am 31.08. beim Pop-Kultur Festival selbst alle gemeinsam auf der Bühne.

In the eighth year of the cooperation between Pop-Kultur and the Goethe-Institut, eight young international musicians will come to Berlin for a twelve-day stay. Their agenda includes studio visits, lengthy jam sessions, brief internships at companies in the city’s music scene and meetups with Musicboard scholarship recipients, as well as the opportunity to present their music live at Acud Macht Neu and on the Nachwuchs stage at Pop-Kultur itself. Some of the Goethe Talents are in Berlin for the first time, some for the first time in Europe. Coming from Kenya, Tanzania, China, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Argentina, Sri Lanka and Botswana, the artists will make music together, network with Berlin’s music institutions and hopefully gain inspiration from others that they can bring back to their respective local scenes.

They will perform on Thursday, Aug 31st on the Frannz Biergarten Stage and at Acud Macht Neu on Saturday, September 2nd to see them perform live and mostly solo! But you never know in advance what artistic collaborations might come up?
