Anton Teichmann: Labelarbeit mit Fokus auf lokale Strukturen / DE

Welche Bedeutung haben Plattenfirmen heutzutage noch – in Zeiten von Streamingangeboten, bei denen man gar nicht weiß, ob und auf welchem Label die Songs und Alben erschienen sind? Labelgründer Anton Teichmann wird in diesem Workshop darüber reden, was Labels anbieten können. Was ist durch Self-releases nicht oder nur schwer möglich? Wie kann ein Label zum Beispiel den Fokus auf lokale Strukturen legen. Zudem wird es um ganz praktische Fragen gehen: Was machen Labels eigentlich genau? Welche Tools sind wichtig? Wie plant man einen Release?

Teichmann arbeitete für mehrere deutsche Indie-Labels (Sinnbus, Morr Music) und als Projektmanager für Initiative Musik und Sound Diplomacy. 2015 ündete er das Label Mansions and Millions, das den Preis für das beste deutsche Label bei den VUT Indie Awards gewann und Musik von Künstler*innen wie Magic Island, Nalan, Discovery Zone, World Brain, John Moods, DENA, Luis Ake u.v.m. veröffentlicht. Verwurzelt in der lokalen Underground-Szene, machte er PR für verschiedene internationale Labels und war als Tourbooker und DIY-Konzertveranstalter tätig. Zudem gründete er 2020 zusammen mit Amande Dagod die Management-Agentur A-Okay (Albertine Sarges, COMA, Discovery Zone und mehr).
 
 
Label Work with a Focus on Local Structures
What’s the point of record labels nowadays, in times of streaming, where you don’t even know whether the songs and albums have been released on a label, or on which one?In this workshop, label founder Anton Teichmann will talk about what labels have to offer. What’s impossible or incredibly difficult by self-releasing? How can a label focus on local structures, for example? This workshop will also deal with very practical questions: What exactly do labels do? What are the important tools? How do you plan a release?

Teichmann has worked for several German indie labels (Sinnbus, Morr Music) and as a project manager for Initiative Musik and Sound Diplomacy. In 2015, he founded the label Mansions and Millions, awarded as the best German label at the VUT Indie Awards and releasing music by acts such as Magic Island, Nalan, Discovery Zone, World Brain, John Moods, DENA, Luis Ake and many others. Rooted in the local underground scene, he did PR for various international labels and worked as a tour booker and DIY concert promoter. He also founded the management agency A-Okay in 2020 along with Amande Dagod (Albertine Sarges, COMA, Discovery Zone and more).
